Kylian Mbappe has reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain he wishes to leave the club, just months after agreeing to a new contract with the French champions.

The French star reportedly feels “betrayed” by PSG after they failed to bring in certain transfer targets and as a result, he wants out of the club.

Last season, he was reportedly close to a move to Real Madrid, but made a last-minute U-turn and agreed to a new contract with PSG, running until 2025, according to the club.

However, with the latest reports, there are a few clubs that could take advantage of the situation, and Liverpool are reportedly one of them.

PSG interested in swap deal with Liverpool

According to Marca, PSG would not consider selling Mbappe to Real Madrid, as relations between the two clubs have soured since they last discussed matters.

That would leave Liverpool as one of the top options, as they have maintained an interest in the player for a long time, but may have financial issues in getting a deal done for the player.

PSG would reportedly be open to a swap deal involved Mbappe, and could consider a deal where they would get Reds star Mohamed Salah in return.

Salah, like Mbappe, signed a new contract with his club this year and is committed to the Anfield side until 2025, but his form has suffered a slump this season.

Reports in England suggest that if Mbappe moves to Liverpool, he will be the biggest earner at the club and that could result in a significant player leaving to make room for the PSG star.

Salah is Liverpool’s top earner and replacing him with Mbappe would be a worthwhile consideration, as it solves the financial problem the Reds may face if they wish to sign the Frenchman.

PSG also see Salah as the ideal replacement for Mbappe if they do indeed end up selling him at some point in the near future.
