Messi is in the final months of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain and the decision to renew hasn’t yet been made with interest from other clubs.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner joined PSG in 2021 on a two-year deal and has done well this campaign after a tough first season, and he’s hoping he can continue that form after the World Cup.

Now, after months of speculation, it seems as though he is set to renew at PSG and continue his stay in the French capital for a further few years.

Messi likely to renew

Messi had been linked to two other clubs: Barcelona and Inter Miami, although no formal approaches had been made for the Argentine superstar.

Barcelona were keen to bring Messi back to the club after letting him go on a free transfer and have been talking to his representatives in order to repair the relationship.

Joan Laporta, Barcelona’s President, has been keen to amend the relationship and has made it one of his priorities to bring Messi back to the club at the first chance he can get.

Inter Miami had also been talking to his representatives in the hope of getting him to Major League Soccer and giving him benefits beyond the pitch.

There was a belief that he was going to take the deal to join Inter Miami and end his European career, but that has been dismissed and he is set to extend at PSG, according to La Ser.

Messi has been more relaxed in Paris this season and suggested his family are better too, which is going to play a big role in his decision to pick his next club.
