Thomas Tuchel could make a return to management soon, six months after being sacked by Chelsea and he could go back to a former club.

Tuchel was let go by Chelsea in a surprising decision in September after a poor start to the season, which included a Champions League group stage defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.

He has been out of work since then but there is reportedly plenty of interest in him, and Paris Saint-Germain could move to make a shock return.

It’s been reported by the Evening Standard that the French side are ready to approach the German boss to see if he’s interested in coming back to the Parc des Princes.

PSG eyeing Tuchel

PSG have been frustrated by current boss Christophe Galtier’s run of results, which included the Champions League first leg defeat to Bayern Munich.

Galtier had a fine start to life in the French capital but results since the World Cup have been poor and fan pressure is rising, causing a problem for the manager.

As a result, PSG are considering a return for Tuchel, who did well at the club, even taking them to the Champions League final in 2020.

The return won’t be as straightforward: Tuchel will want assurances that he will be backed in certain situations, and that player power won’t be an issue for him.

He had issues with former sporting director Leonardo, but now that he is gone, he will have the opportunity to work with Luis Campos.

Other than PSG, Tuchel has also been linked with a return to Chelsea, although that is a bit of a long shot as he had a poor relationship with Todd Boehly.

Boehly was not impressed by the work culture applied with the first team under Tuchel and he wanted to get that changed, which was a contributing factor to his sacking.
