Lionel Messi won The Best FIFA Men’s Player award at the annual competition in Paris.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward won his first ever World Cup with Argentina, being voted the tournament’s best player in Qatar 2022 after scoring seven goals and grabbing the joint-most assists with four.

Messi beat PSG teammate and fellow World Cup finalist Kylian Mbappe to the award, along with Real Madrid’s French striker Karim Benzema.

Who won The Best FIFA Men’s Coach

Argentina’s Lionel Scaloni was the winner of The Best FIFA Men’s Coach award after leading his country to the World Cup trophy in Qatar in 2022.

The other nominees were Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez won The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper award after leading Argentina to 2022 World Cup glory in Qatar last year.

He beat Morocco’s Yassine ‘Bono’ Bounou and Real Madrid’s Champions League winner Thibaut Courtois to the honour.

Barcelona and Spain star Alexia Putellas won The Best FIFA Women's Player award.

The other nominees were Beth Mead and Alex Morgan.

England coach Sarina Wiegman won the award for The Best FIFA Women’s Coach for the third time after leading the Lionesses to victory in the Euro 2022 tournament.

She beat Sonia Bompastor and Pia Sundhage to the trophy.

Manchester United stopper Mary Earps won the award for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper after conceding just two goals and grabbing four clean sheets in England’s Euro 2022 victory.

The other nominees were Ann-Katrin Berger and Christiane Endler.

The Puskas award for the best goal scored in 2022 was awarded to amputee footballer Marcin Olesky for an acrobatic strike versus Stal Rzeszow.
