The World Cup winner is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires this summer and is wanted by both former club Barcelona and Al-Hilal.

According to French media outlet AFP, Messi has been offered a two-year deal by Al-Hilal, who are rivals with Cristiano Ronaldo's current club, Al Nassr.

They have reportedly offered Messi an eye-watering annual salary of €363 million, which adds up to €726m across the two-year deal. Messi also has the option to extend his stay by a further year, according to the report.

Barcelona remain keen on re-signing the Argentine forward, but won't be able to offer a similar financial package as Al-Hilal.

Messi to leave PSG

Messi recently travelled to Saudi Arabia instead of turning up to PSG training, which led to him being suspended for two weeks by the Ligue 1 club. He did not feature in their 3-1 victory over Troyes on 7 May.

Despite rumours of a move away, Messi has scored 20 goals and assisted a further 19 in a stellar season for PSG, while he also won the Golden Ball at the 2022 World Cup after guiding Argentina to glory in the competition. He netted seven goals and grabbed three assists on his way to lifting the Jules Rimet.

Messi's former team-mates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have also been heavily linked with moves to Al-Hilal, with both Barcelona stars offered contracts by the club. Busquets will become a free agent this summer, while Alba still has one more year left on his deal at Camp Nou.
