PSG look to 'satisfy' Mbappe by signing long-term Barcelona target
Paris Saint-Germain have begun to draw up plans for life after Lionel Messi and they have are eyeing a long-term favourite of director Luis Campos as their main priority signing this summer.
The French side are looking to significantly restructure their team this summer, with Messi set to leave upon the expiry of his contract and Neymar also considering an exit from the club.
PSG’s ‘super team’ has failed to live up to expectations and the club are looking to build towards a younger, French core instead of their previous model of costly and high profile stars.
THE END: Neymar 'finally' ready to leave PSG
However, according to French outlet le10sport, Kylian Mbappe and Campos have been ‘working’ behind the scenes to bring in a player who they both encountered and got to know during their time at Monaco.
Bernardo Silva was brought to Monaco by Campos and won Ligue 1 alongside Mbappe in 2017, prompting the French forward to urge PSG to sign the Manchester City playmaker.
Silva had been heavily pursued by Barcelona in recent times and PSG had attempted to sign him last summer but the move was vetoed by City, however he will be allowed to leave this year for the right fee.
Could PSG sign Silva?
PSG are looking to ‘satisfy’ Kylian Mbappe, who is entering the final year of the contract he only signed last summer.
Mbappe has an option to extend his contract for a further year, however he has yet to indicate that he is willing to do so and could pursue a transfer to Real Madrid next summer, having turned them down last season.
OPTIONS: Mbappe could consider move to a club he has a 'special connection' with
Silva is in his sixth season with City and has previously spoken of his desire to pursue a new challenge, with Barcelona having been described as a ‘dream club’, however the Catalans have not been in a position to afford him.
City have demanded a fee in excess of €70m for the 28-year-old and a move to PSG is reported as being appealing as they will be able to offer him better terms than he is currently on.
