Paris Saint-Germain are set to part ways with their sporting director Luis Campos, according to reports in France.

Campos, whose title is technically 'Football Advisor' at the Parc des Princes, has overseen a turbulent summer in the French capital.

Lionel Messi left on a free transfer to Inter Miami and Neymar to Al-Hilal, while Kylian Mbappe was previously frozen out of the squad with his current employers firmly in the belief that he had already agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.

Against this backdrop, the French champions have signed 10 new players this summer, with Ousmane Dembele, Lucas Hernandez and Marco Asensio first among them.

But results haven't followed, with Luis Enrique's first two games as manager resulting in draws before Saturday's 3-1 win at home to last season's runners-up Lens, and tensions have reportedly come to a head behind the scenes.

Campos clashing behind the scenes

"Two influential members of the club's hierarchy requested [Campos'] resignation on Saturday before the Lens game," writes Le Parisien's Dominique Severac. "President Nasser Al-Khelaifi now needs to decide quickly.

"Victoriano Melero and Gregory Durand, respectively secretary general of the club and director of the legal department, no longer feel they can work with Campos. They want his head to role and he could be gone in a few days, by the end of the transfer window."

Campos had previously been lauded as a transfer genius after helping Christoph Galtier build a Lille side that denied PSG the Ligue 1 title in 2021.

The pair were reunited at the Parc des Princes last season, but Paris only won the league a point clear of Lens, and Galtier had already lost his job to Enrique in July.

The season may only be three games in, but PSG are currently eighth, and the Spaniard hasn't been in the job long enough for his to be the ceremonial head on the chopping block.
