Kylian Mbappe has spoken out over his summer transfer plans after helping PSG to win the French Super Cup with a 2-0 win over Toulouse in Paris on Wednesday.

Mbappe scored PSG’s second and had a hand in the first with a clever dummy that allowed Lee Kang-In a simple tap in, but while the World Cup winner claimed yet more silverware, all of the talk following the match was over his future.

The 25-year-old is out of contract in the summer, at which point he will become a free agent.

Real Madrid and Liverpool are the clubs most credited with an interest in the player, yet the possibility remains that he will stay with PSG.

Los Blancos have reportedly given him as a deadline of 15 January to agree to join the Bernabeu club.

Mbappe, though, insists that he has not made up his mind.

“I am already very motivated for this year. It's very important, we have titles to go after,” he told the media.

“Afterwards, no I haven’t made my decision, I didn't make a choice. With the agreement that I made with the president this summer, whatever my decision, we will seek to protect all parties and preserve the serenity of the club for the upcoming matches, which remains the most important thing.”

When will Mbappe announce his decision?

Asked when his decision will be made public, he explained: “I don’t know. It was late May in 2022 because I didn't know until May. If I know what I want to do, why hang around? But the most important thing is the titles. We are determined. The team is looking towards that. Nobody talks about my situation inside the club. Not many people are interested.”

Real Madrid and Liverpool are certainly monitoring the situation, though the interest of the Spanish club, who were spurned so dramatically 18 months ago, appears to have faded.

Liverpool’s interest, meanwhile, seems to hinge on the future of Mohamed Salah, who FootballTransfers exclusively revealed is closing in on a new deal with the Anfield club.

Mbappe’s Expected Transfer Value (ETV) has fallen to €125 million over his weak contract, pushing him down to the world’s third most valuable player behind Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
