Mbappe’s entourage speak out over Real Madrid transfer rumours

Kylian Mbappe’s entourage have broken their silence amid fresh transfer rumours linking the PSG forward with a summer move to Real Madrid.

Mbappe has refused to extend his contract with the Ligue 1 side, meaning that he is eligible to leave as a free agent after his deal expires at the end of June 2024.

A flurry of conflicting reports emerged on Sunday regarding the France international striker, who turned 25 last month.

FootMercato very pointedly claimed that Mbappe already has an agreement to join Real Madrid, but this has been shot down by The Times and AS among others, who claim that nothing is done. The former even hinted that Mbappe is frustrated with the deadline he has been given by Los Blancos.

In a bid to clarify the situation, the forward’s representatives have issued a statement.

“There is no agreement around Kylian's future, especially since there are no discussions started about it,” RMC reports.

“No type of influence could dictate the timing of Kylian's discussion, reflection or decision.”

What has Mbappe said about his contract?

Mbappe spoke directly about the issue last week, with his discourse reflecting that presented by his personal team.

“I am already very motivated for this year. It's very important, we have titles to go after,” he told the media.

“Afterwards, no I haven’t made my decision, I didn't make a choice. With the agreement that I made with the president this summer, whatever my decision, we will seek to protect all parties and preserve the serenity of the club for the upcoming matches, which remains the most important thing.”

Real Madrid are the club competing most significantly with PSG in order to sign Mbappe, though they have reportedly given the player a 15 January deadline to accept their offer.
