Liverpool learn if Mbappe will join them this summer
Kylian Mbappe has reportedly quashed any speculation of a summer move to the Premier League, meaning that Liverpool's chances of signing the Paris Saint-Germain star have been dashed.
Since his departure from Monaco to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, the Reds have been linked in some way or another to the superstar.
Mbappe's contract with PSG is set to expire at the end of the season, so he can now speak to non-Ligue 1 sides about signing for them.
Real Madrid have been extensively linked to Mbappe, but so have Liverpool. But now recent reports from Caught Offside has asserted that Liverpool stand zero chance of acquiring Mbappe in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The report states that the player has ruled out a move to the Premier League as well as the Saudi Pro League. According to the report, Real Madrid are the only club Mbappe would consider if he was to leave PSG when his deal at the Parc des Princes is up.
It’s thought that PSG have extended a contract offer to Mbappe, valid until 2027, but he is yet to accept the deal.
PSG are believed to be eyeing AC Milan's Rafael Leao as a potential replacement for Mbappe.
Real Mbappe make Kylian Mbappe tease
It comes after Real Madrid teased fans with a cryptic post on social media hinting towards an imminent announcement of Kylian Mbappe’s transfer, with the Paris Saint-Germain forward set to reveal his decision in the coming days.
The 25-year-old has assured PSG he will not drag out any talks and will inform the club of his plans within the next two weeks and speculation has now been fuelled that Mbappe will end up opting to leave for Real.
The La Liga side posted a short video on Twitter of a laptop on the pitch of the Santiago Bernabeu with ‘New’ written on the screen, accompanied by a date of February 2nd, indicating there would be an announcement of some sort tomorrow.
