Nico Williams: Spain's Euro 2024 star rejected INCREDIBLE offer
Nico Williams has made a major sacrifice to remain at Athletic Club this season after being one of the most-wanted players on the transfer market.
A number of clubs spearheaded by Barcelona were tracking the Spain Euro 2024 star, with Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG also linked with a move for him.
Marca has revealed there were four reasons why he primarily chose to remain with Athletic instead of pursuing any of these options outside Bilbao, one of which would have made him very rich indeed.
According to the Madrid-based source, PSG were ready to offer Nico Williams an eye-watering wage to sign at Parc des Princes. Marca states that the Ligue 1 champions offered the 22-year-old, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €49.6 million and a release clause of €58m on his Athletic deal, the chance to double a salary that The Athletic states is worth €200,000 per week.

Why did Nico Williams reject a transfer?
The Spain star has four reasons for choosing to knockback Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG.
Marca states that he has taken this course because he believes it is the right decision for his progression as a player, the sense of belonging that he has at Athletic Club and also because of agent Felix Tainta, who is renowned for looking after the interests of his players.
In addition to all this, the source indicates that Nico is also paid handsomely in Bilbao, where he receives a wage far higher than he would expect at any other LaLiga club with the exception of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

This is likely to be simply respite in the battle to sign the attacker, with Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea all likely to retain an interest in the winger next summer.
With a relatively cheap release clause in his deal, Nico Williams will remain a key player on the transfer market, even though Athletic have managed to retain him for now.
PSG’s offer shows, though, how difficult it will be for Arsenal, Chelsea or Barcelona to sign him.
