Mbappe’s €55m PSG claim: Real Madrid star’s problems mount as ruling made
Kylian Mbappe has been told to enter a mediation process with PSG over claims that the Ligue 1 side owe the Real Madrid striker around €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses.
The French Football League (LFP) held a hearing with PSG and Mbappe on Wednesday after weeks of speculation in the media that the two parties could wind up in court.
The relationship between the France forward, who departed PSG at the end of his contract in the summer to join Real Madrid, and his former club has been deteriorating for weeks, amid accusations that millions of unpaid wages and bonuses are still owed to him.

Ultimately, the LFP has instructed Mbappe to enter a mediation process with the Ligue 1 champions.
PSG are pleased with the outcome of the matter, stating via RMC: “Paris Saint-Germain welcomes the hearing that was held today for two hours before the Legal Commission. The Club recalled that the player had made clear commitments, repeated in public and in private, and that these commitments must be respected by the player, in the context of seven fantastic seasons corresponding to an unprecedented investment by the Club.
“In light of the Club's documented arguments, the Commission insisted on the establishment of mediation between the parties, which Paris Saint-Germain has been seeking for many months. The Commission invited the player to consider this mediation process.”

Mbappe’s camp has yet to respond to the outcome of the hearing, but his mother and agent Fayza Lamari has previously indicated that the case could go all the way to the courts.
She previously compared the matter to a divorce.
“Sometimes, when you separate, you have to decide who gets the TV, who gets the furniture or the car…” she told AS.
Mbappe’s problems mount
Mbappe, meanwhile, faces something of a public relations crisis in his homeland after a poor display for France in a 3-1 loss against Italy in the Nations League.
His captaincy has been openly criticised in the media, with L’Equipe revealing that he did not speak in the locker room after the defeat and that it was left to goalkeeper Mike Maignan to rally the team after what was widely condemned as an unacceptable performance.
Prior to the match, Mbappe was branded either “lying or stupid” by one prominent pundit, while the Real Madrid striker’s display on the field led to him being described as “unfit and disillusioned”.
