Paris Saint-Germain have officially completed the signing of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Georgian magician has finally secured the move he had been angling for. Already in the summer, Kvaratskhelia reportedly told Napoli that he wanted to leave, but the club - and especially new coach Antonio Conte - blocked his exit.

At the time, PSG were vying for the 23-year-old's signature and they even launched an incredible €200 million bid for Kvaratskhelia and teammate Victor Osimhen. However, Napoli were unwilling to lose both in the same window and rejected the offer.

Unbeknownst to the Serie A side at the time, Osimhen would not manage to secure the big-money move away that both he and the club anticipated, leaving Napoli in an awkward position financially and Kvaratskhelia frustrated.

Ahead of January, 'Kvaradona' once again expressed his desire to leave and this time Napoli acceded to his demands.

PSG sign Kvaratskhelia

Following Kvaratskhelia's transfer request, things proceeded swiftly, with PSG immediately pouncing on the opportunity while Premier League suitors Liverpool and Chelsea dithered.

Napoli initially demanded an €80 million fee, but both clubs ultimately settled on a sum of just over €70m. Kvaratskhelia has penned a five-year contract with the Parisians.

Kvaratskhelia arrives at the Parc des Princes with a big reputation, having led Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years in 2023. This season, however, the 23-year-old winger has not managed to reach the same level of productivity.

Kvaratskhelia was still an important part under Conte in the first half of the season but his five goals and three assists in 19 appearances was a disappointing return for a player who became a national hero for Georgia at Euro 2024.

PSG will be hoping that 'Kvaradona' can rediscover his best form in Ligue 1. In some ways, he will be seen as the heir of Kylian Mbappe and will have big shoes to fill.
