Kylian Mbappe found GUILTY as ‘SEASON IN HELL’ ends with RIOT

Kylian Mbappe’s miserable week concluded on Friday in a disappointing but predictable manner.
The Real Madrid superstar was sent-off last weekend in a LaLiga clash against Alaves, which provoked huge controversy as he was ultimately given only a one-match domestic suspension. Mbappe was then hugely disappointing as Los Blancos crashed out of the Champions League against Arsenal with a whimper.
On Friday, his hat-trick of misery was completed as Mbappe saw the Ligue 2 side he owns, SM Caen, relegated out of the French professional setup in front of more than 17,000 angry fans, some of whom invaded the pitch once their relegation was confirmed.
The France captain had promised great things for the club, which has been a regular in Ligue 1 in recent seasons, when he became the majority shareholder last summer. Instead, the team’s performance over the course of the campaign has been described as a “season in hell” by Ouest France.
Mbappe, who owns 20% of the club, is one of those to have been found “guilty” by the media for his part in the embarrassing relegation, which was sealed by a thumping 3-0 home loss against a Martigues outfit also struggling against the drop.

The fans feel the same, as was underlined with supporters entering the pitch at the end of the game to confront players branded “s**t” by banners unfurled after their opponents went 2-0 up.
“The Mbappe clan, which arrived late, bears its share of responsibility for this failure,” Christophe Vaucelle, the founding president of the Malherbe Normandy Kop (MNK), told AFP.
Caen go down with a whimper
Under Mbappe, Caen have taken a number of unpopular decisions, such as that to sack head coach Nicolas Seube, an iconic figure at the club. It proved a catastrophic decision, with Bruno Baltazar stepping in to replace him. The unknown Portuguese lost all seven games he was in charge, with just one goal scored.
With the talk around the club even at the beginning of January still around “Ligue 1 and European football”, the level of delusion was remarkable.
Speaking to BeIN Sports, former Caen defender Brahim Traore, acting as a pundit, explained: “The post-mortem starts with an audit of all the people who run the club and for them to question themselves. The truth is that the failure lies with them today.
“Believe me, it breaks my heart to see this club going down. I would never have imagined it.”
Given the week that Mbappe has had, Caen are the last of the Real Madrid star’s problems, though.
