€40m star De Paul ready for Real Madrid or Liverpool transfer

Udinese star Rodrigo De Paul says he is ready to play for a big club like Real Madrid or Liverpool.

The Argentine is one of the hottest properties on the transfer market having established himself as one of the best players in Serie A over the last 18 months.

He has been linked with a host of Europe’s biggest clubs and, after scoring for Udinese against Sampdoria on Saturday, was asked about the interest from Real Madrid and Liverpool.

“I set no limits for myself,” De Paul told Sky Sport.

“Once you join a national team like Argentina, you feel you are ready to play with anyone.

“I hope I am going to have a great career and I am working to achieve it.”

The 26-year-old, who has been capped 21 times by his country, has been slapped with a €40 million price tag by his club.

“De Paul is a talented player and a point of reference for our team,” Udinese’s vice-president Stefano Campoccia stated.

“He is a jewel and the jewels cost. The proposals did not meet our requests, for less than €40m he does not move.” 

De Paul is expected to remain at Udinese until the end of the season when he will be allowed to join a major club.
