‘Aguero can do what Tevez did for Juventus’

Sergio Aguero would be a ‘perfect’ signing for Juventus this summer, according to club legend Franco Causio.

It was announced this week that the Argentine will bring a decade at Manchester City to a close when his contract expires at the end of this season.

That is sure to spark a scramble for his signature, with Barcelona already touted as a potential destination due to Aguero’s close personal relationship with Lionel Messi.

However, Causio believes the 32-year-old should consider following in the footsteps of one of his compatriots in swapping City for Juventus when the window opens.

After leaving Manchester, Carlos Tevez scored 50 goals in 95 games for the Italians across two seasons that brought two Serie A titles, a Coppa Italia, and a Champions League final appearance.

And Causio is of the opinion that Aguero could make a similar impact should he head to Italy this summer.

‘He can be like Tevez’

“He would be perfect for Juventus. He has proved he can be useful for many clubs, provided he is 100 per cent fit,” he told Gazzetta Dello Sport.

“Players are not old anymore at 32. If I were at Juventus, I would offer him a two-year deal because I am convinced he can still give a lot.

“He can be like Tevez, but he must be motivated and willing to win, as Tevez did.”
