Arsenal flop Gervinho will officially join Trabzonspor at the end of the season, the Turkish club’s president has confirmed.

The 33-year-old has spent the last three years in Serie A with Parma but, after an excellent first couple of seasons, has endured a miserable campaign this time around.

Parma have already been relegated and are currently rooted to the bottom of the table with just one game remaining, Gervinho contributing just five goals to the cause.

The Ivory Coast international will leave Parma at the end of the season to sign for Trabzonspor.

He will be joined at the Turkish club by Roma wing-back Bruno Peres, whose contract at the Stadio Olimpico will expire next month.

“They will sign their contracts within 8-10 days,” Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu told Fanatik.

“Those are two done deals, we are going to finalize the agreements in the first days of June.”

Gervinho’s most notable spell of his career was at Arsenal where he spent two years between 2011 and 2013.

However, despite arriving at the Emirates from Lille with a big reputation, the attacker struggled badly in north London and scored just nine Premier League goals.

He was shipped out to Roma where he enjoyed an exceptional first campaign before once again losing form.

Gervinho also played for Beveren, Le Mans and Chinese side Hebei CFFC during his career.

He will not be the only veteran former Arsenal player in Turkish football next season.

Mesut Ozil currently plies his trade for Fenerbahce after terminating his contract with the Gunners in January.

However, Ozil has been a big disappointment so far and has managed no goals and just one assist so far in 11 games.
