Massimiliano Allegri has insisted he has no worries over his job after Angel Di Maria was seen seemingly questioning his decision making.

The Juventus boss is under pressure after a poor start to the season which has seen his side win just two of their opening six games, leaving them eighth in Serie A.

Juve have also lost their first two Champions League games after slumping to a defeat at home to Benfica in which goalscorer Arkadiusz Milik was substituted in the 70th minute with his side 2-1 down.

The decision seemed to perplex Di Maria and he was seen talking to Milik at the full-time whistle where he appeared to gesture in confusion about the substitution.

Allegri explained his decision after the game, saying: “Angel only had half a training session with the squad and needed playing time to regain fitness.

“I took Milik off because we were struggling with only two midfielders. I had to take a striker off, I took Milik off, who seemed more tired.”

What did Allegri say about his job security?

Allegri won 11 trophies in five years during his first stint at Juve but his second spell has been underwhelming, with his side finishing 4th last year in his first season back in Turin.

The Italian still has three years left on his contract but speculation over his future intensified after Chelsea’s sacking of Thomas Tuchel, with some seeing the German as a ready-made candidate for the Juventus job.

However, Allegri appeared to be unfazed by the rumours and cited injuries as a reason for his side’s poor form.

He said: "It's difficult to explain. In this moment, it's useless to talk. We have to keep quiet and work. I do not feel at risk at all.”

Allegri also added: "We need to work hard and change the situation — also, we have many important players injured."

“I already told the team these moments happen in football, we need to emerge from them as a team, with a sense of responsibility.

“We have an important Serie A game coming up against Monza and after that we can think about Europe. It will certainly be complicated, but not all is lost.”
