Hakan Calhanoglu has been doing well for Simone Inzaghi’s side in recent times and could be in line for a transfer in the near future.

The Red Devils along with Newcastle United are keeping tabs on the Turkish star, and could take advantage of Inter’s financial situation as they aim to make a move happen.

A transfer is a possibility, especially for two clubs who are unafraid to splash the cash and have all the resources to get the players they target.

Man Utd interested in Inter star

According to Calciomercato, Manchester United are strongly interested in the player and would be open to making a move in the future.

Manchester United have been targeting a new midfielder, having signed Christian Eriksen and Casemiro in the summer and they need more depth in their position.

Eriksen has been valuable to them for the progression of the ball in midfield, and they need another player in their ranks to allow the Dane to rest more.

There are clear problems in their midfield without him, and as a result, a player like Calhanoglu has been identified to help their team as Erik ten Hag looks for more depth in the team.

There have been other targets for their midfield position, namely Frenkie de Jong, who they chased for 17 weeks in the summer transfer window and were unable to land despite negotiations with Barcelona.

Calhanoglu moved to Inter from Milan in 2021, and has played a deeper midfield role for them, going away from his attacking role just behind the forward and that has been great for his career.

He has proven to be hard to drop in recent weeks, and if he maintains this level, he will certainly be of interest to many more clubs in the future.
