Kvaradona wants a deal with a release clause at Napoli

Napoli are optimistic of signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to a new contract but they may be forced to include a release clause in any deal to convince their talismanic forward to commit his future to the club.
‘Kvaradona’, as he’s affectionately known by fans, has been one of the breakout stars of world football since joining Napoli last summer, grabbing ten goals and 12 assists to lead his side to the Scudetto in his first season.
The Georgian signed for just over €10 million but Napoli would be unsurprised if offers worth ten times that amount eventually came in for Kvara, having been named the ‘Most Valuable Player’ in Serie A last season.

However, Kvaratskhelia has remained grounded despite the hype surrounding him and is willing to ignore interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Newcastle to extend his contract at the club that helped him make a name in Europe.
The 22-year-old still has four years remaining on his contract but Napoli would like to reward him with improved terms, with the tricky winger believed to be earning around €1.2m a season currently.
But while Kvara is happy with his current situation, Napoli have been told that any renewal would require a release clause of €90m inserted into the deal and a salary of €6m, leaving the Serie A champions contemplating their next move, according to Italian outlet Il Mattino.
Napoli happy with one superstar but concerned over another
Despite rumours, a renewal is not close between Napoli and Kvaratskhelia, although that is primarily because neither side are in a hurry to force negotiations.
Napoli are relaxed over the future of a player who’s current deal expires in 2027 and are willing to see how the new season develops before making any major salary changes.
However, the future of Victor Osimhen is less certain, with the club’s top scorer coveted by almost every major side in the world after his incredible season last year, while only having two years left on his deal.

Napoli will reconsider contractual situations after the transfer window closes this week but Osimhen’s future could have an impact on the club’s pedigree in the Champions League, which could affect Kvaratskhelia’s decision on his path going forward.
