Inter star provides update on transfer future amid Chelsea and Man City interest

Inter Milan defender Federico Dimarco has confirmed that he would like to extend his contract at San Siro, despite reported interest from both Manchester City and Chelsea.
The Italy international has shone for the Nerazzurri over the past year and his form has attracted the attention of Premier League clubs.
90min have reported that Man City and Chelsea both hold interest in the 25-year-old, with the former first chasing Dimarco back in February. They were also reportedly impressed by his display in the Champions League final and continue to track his progress.

However, the €90 million summer arrival of Josko Gvardiol may make a deal slightly tricky as the Croatian has started life under Pep Guardiola at left-back, in a similar role to the one Nathan Ake played last campaign.
As for Chelsea, they are also keen on Dimarco and have sent scouts to watch him during the opening few rounds of fixtures in the 2023-24 campaign, according to 90min.
However, Levi Colwill has been used mostly at left-back by Mauricio Pochettino this season, while Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella and Ian Maatsen are also options in that position.

But, the Blues are reportedly still interested in signing another full-back who specialises on the left due to their desire to sell Cucurella and Maatsen’s uncertain future.
The Dutchman rejected a Transfer Deadline Day move to Burnley on a permanent basis, despite the fact Chelsea accepted the Clarets’ offer.
Dimarco wants renewed Inter contract
While Man City and Chelsea are both interested in signing him, Dimarco is solely focused on Inter. After their win against Empoli this weekend, the Italian said: “I don't think there will be any problems, I certainly want to renew my contract with Inter."
Inter chief executive Giuseppe Marotta also spoke about Dimarco's future after the game, and insisted: "Dimarco proves the sense of belonging towards the club, we are happy and proud. He keeps improving and he is still very young. We'll soon meet to discuss a contract extension.”
