The Romanian star has impressed during the opening weeks of the new season and is set to be rewarded with a new contract at Genoa.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has reported that Dragusin will sign a new long-term deal at the Serie A club. Furthermore, fellow Genoa star Albert Gudmunsson has signed a new contract until 2027 as they attempt to build on an encouraging start to the 2023-24 campaign.

However, Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb have reported that Genoa will let Dragusin leave for €30m in January, even if he signs a new deal in the coming weeks.

The report states: “to avoid torment and turbulence, Dragusin will renew until 2028 but with a gentlemen's agreement: if a proposal of around 30 million arrives he can be let go.”

Dragusin spent last season on loan at Genoa and helped the club achieve promotion from Serie B, before they made the deal permanent for €5.5m this summer.

Now, he has attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

Furthermore, Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the Romania international, with renowned Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale, as per Now Arsenal, reporting that the Gunners have been closely monitoring his progress at Genoa with the idea of making a move in 2024.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta currently has William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jakub Kiwior, Jurrien Timber, Benjamin White and Takehiro Tomiyasu as centre-back options at the Emirates Stadium, but the latter three are more considered full-backs by the former Gunners midfielder.
