PSV ready to take risk over Arsenal linked Xavi Simons
Xavi Simons may have a contract with PSV until 2027, but it is unlikely that the young attacker will remain with the Eindhoven side until then.
PSG have an option to buy back the Netherlands star for €12 million next summer, which puts PSV in an extremely difficult position. But they are willing to take risks with him – and that could leave the French side, as well as Arsenal, disappointed.

This has been Simons’ season at PSV. The 20-year-old from Amsterdam is the key man in Ruud van Nistelrooy's team this season. It is not surprising that every European top club closely monitors the performance of the three-times Netherlands international, with the Gunners increasingly strongly linked with a transfer bid.
Nevertheless, PSV are prepared to take a financial risk next summer. If clubs come up with offers of something like €30-40 million and PSV refuse, they run the risk of seeing the midfielder return to PSG for just €12m in 2024.

PSV to open Simons contract talks
The Dutch side want to mitigate these risks. They will do this by opening contract talks with Simons and his agent as rapidly as possible.
Eindhovens Dagblad reports that PSV believe that Simons has not only earned a new contract, but that a new commitment will also ensure that the PSG clause will disappear. Director of football affairs Earnest Stewart knows that he must take a financial gamble to keep Simons in Eindhoven. The attacker knows what he can earn abroad and will most likely have to settle for less at PSV.
He has supposedly caught the eye of Arsenal, with his new agency Doubled boasting extensive links with the Premier League challenges.
One thing that is certain is that PSV wants to use Simons in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League at all costs. The Eindhoven side want to do everything they can to reach the group stages of the profitable competition and know that with him in their ranks it will be far easier.
And they know that if they do qualify for the Champions League pools, it will make it easier for them to retain until Simons 2024.
