The 19-year-old only joined the Cherries last summer but has impressed at the heart of their defence, with Bournemouth having the sixth-best defence in the Premier League.

Huijsen made his debut for Spain in this international break against the Netherlands and came up against his teammate Kluivert, who admitted that his colleague is set to leave Bournemouth this summer.

“He is a great player. Spain has a phenomenon for so many years,” Kluivert told Radio MARCA. “He is truly amazing. He came to England in the summer and adapted fantastically. He is so young and he already plays for Spain – and he plays like this.

“I’m sure he will have a lot of offers in the summer. And we all know that next year he won’t be with us at Bournemouth.”

Real Madrid lead Man Utd and Liverpool in chase for Huijsen

Bournemouth are set to make a huge profit on Huijsen after signing the teenager for just €15m from Juventus last summer on a six-year contract.

The centre-back has flourished under the coaching of his Spanish compatriot Andoni Iraola, leading to interest from virtually every top European side including Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea.

However, Real Madrid are thought to be leading the race for Huijsen, with the Dutch-born defender understood to be keen on a move to Spain after his breakthrough for the international side.

Real are believed to have made the youngster their top target to strengthen in defence and have already made contact with the player’s agent to explore a deal.
