Ronaldo signed for Al-Nassr earlier this year after a controversial exit from Manchester United.

Since then, the Portugal international has scored 14 goals in 16 Saudi Pro League games but failed to win the title.

There were several reports that he did not want to continue with the team next season but he has put those to bed in his latest interview.

"I am happy here — I want to continue here and I will continue here," he told the league's YouTube channel.

"My expectations were somewhat different, frankly. I expected us to win one of the titles this year, but things are not going as well as we would like or expect.

"Sometimes we need patience, continuity and perseverance, and we will improve a lot.

"Next year I am very optimistic and confident that things will change and we will go in the best way, so we have to believe in it and work for it."
