The striker is back and firing, notching a goal in a pre-season friendly against Leyton Orient on Saturday. Jesus looked noticeably leaner after having the summer off rather than heading to the Copa America with Brazil.

Club sources have described the 27-year-old as being 'fitter than ever' and this has been attributed to a series of crucial discussions with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu.

Concerns over the forward’s fitness were addressed head-on in these talks, resulting in a renewed focus and commitment from the player.

Despite rumours circulating in the media about potential talks with clubs in Saudi Arabia, Arsenal have always been firm in their stance: Gabriel Jesus is not for sale.

This was the case when he was being linked with Juventus earlier this year and it is still the case now.

Jesus key for the new season

Jesus, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City in the summer of 2022, quickly became a key figure in Arteta’s squad. His speed, agility, and clinical finishing made him an invaluable asset to the team.

However, the Brazilian faced significant challenges with injuries and form in 2022/23 and 2023/24.

He suffered a knee injury in December 2022 while playing for Brazil in the World Cup, which required surgery and led to a lengthy recovery period, impacting the early part of 2023.

He then experienced a recurring issue with his knee, causing him to miss several matches and affecting his ability to train and play regularly.

With his fitness now at its peak, Jesus is concentrating on helping Arsenal achieve their primary objective for the next season: winning the Premier League.

As Arsenal gear up for the new season, the return of a fully fit and motivated Gabriel Jesus is a massive boost to their title aspirations. His presence on the field will undoubtedly be a significant factor in Arsenal’s quest for Premier League supremacy.
