Chelsea handed boost as Amorim targets huge Man Utd deal
Manchester United have reportedly rekindled their interest in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi ahead of the January transfer window.
The England international has been linked with a Selhurst Park exit for over a year and he was widely expected to join Newcastle United this summer.
However, Eddie Howe’s side were unable to match Crystal Palace’s asking price and Guehi stayed put in south London.

Despite this, the 24-year-old is set to be the subject of significant transfer interest next year and Man Utd are now eyeing a move, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
The Red Devils are long-term admirers of Guehi and they are expected to rekindle their interest in the former Chelsea academy star as they aim to bolster Ruben Amorim’s first-team squad in 2025.
Jarrad Branthwaite and Ousmane Diomande have also been linked with an Old Trafford switch amid reports that Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof could all leave Man Utd next year.
However, Guehi has emerged as a priority target for Amorim, with the England defender deemed to be perfectly suited for the Man Utd boss’ preferred 3-4-2-1 system.

Chelsea to earn huge Marc Guehi windfall
If Man Utd decide to lodge a formal bid for Guehi in 2025, Chelsea could stand to benefit in a major way.
The Blues included a 20% sell-on clause in Guehi’s Crystal Palace contract and they could therefore earn as much as €18 million if Oliver Glasner’s side continue to demand a total fee of €90m for the England star.
Guehi, whose Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €33.4m, spent 14 years at Chelsea, although he only made two first-team appearances for the Blues.
The 24-year-old’s contract at Crystal Palace is due to expire in 2026, and Arsenal and Liverpool have also been credited with interest over the past months.
