EXCLUSIVE: Man City eye 20-year-old replacement for Ederson
Manchester City have taken a keen interest in signing Brazilian goalkeeper Mycael this summer as a potential replacement for Ederson, FootballTransfers can reveal.
The Sky Blues’ current number two Stefan Ortega looks set to take over as the number one spot if Ederson leaves the clubs this summer.
Ortega, who has been Ederson's backup since 2022, made 20 appearances across all competitions last season and Pep Guardiola has no problems using him as their first-choice keeper next season. But Guardiola is seeking a new backup keeper.

Mycael has only played twice for Athletico Paranaense's first team but has still managed to attract interest from numerous teams. Man City are the most active club with hopes of bringing him to the Premier League.
Mycael Pontes Moreira, simply known as Mycael, is a rising star in Brazilian football. The 20-year-old goalkeeper currently plays for Athletico Paranaense in Brazil's Serie A. Standing at 6ft3 he is an imposing goalkeeper and is expected to develop into an elite player.
A Brazil U23 international, he has been called into the full national team previously and is contracted until 2027 with his current club.
Ederson open to Saudi switch
Ederson, meanwhile, could depart Man City after seven years at the Etihad Stadium.
The 30-year-old is being targeted by clubs in the Saudi Pro League, where there is substantial interest in his services.
We are told that two Saudi sides have put matching offers to Ederson, with a proposal offering him £50.8 million over two years.

The player is now in active talks to move to the Middle East and Man City won’t stand in his way if he pushes for an exit.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper, who FootballTransfers’ Estimated Transfer Value algorithm (ETV) ranks at €51.5m, is under contract until 2026 at the Etihad.
Edseron has secured six Premier League titles and the Champions League with Man City.
