WBA and Sheffield Wednesday hunt for ex-Reading star Moore

West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield Wednesday are among the clubs chasing the signing of former Reading captain Liam Moore on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old brought a seven-year stay at the Madejski Stadium to a close this summer when his latest contract expired.
And, having made 219 Championship appearances during his time with the Royals, the experienced centre-back is attracting strong interest from across the division.

West Brom are on the hunt for defensive reinforcements after conceding four goals in their first two league fixtures of the new season.
Newly promoted Sheffield Wednesday, meanwhile, have kicked off the campaign with back-to-back defeats and appear in need of an experienced option at the back.
That could be Moore, who is keen to get his career back on track after what has been a difficult 18 months.

The Jamaica international, who has represented his country on nine occasions, was stripped of the Reading captaincy in January 2022 amid claims from the club that he had expressed a desire to leave.
A loan move to Stoke City followed, but Moore was then hit with a serious knee injury that kept him out until March 2023.
And his comeback attempt was then thwarted by a further fitness setback, which Moore put down to an "eagerness to be available as quickly as possible" to help the Royals in their fight against relegation, a battle they were ultimately unsuccessful in.
However, the Loughborough-born centre-back is now back to full fitness and, with the battle for his signature heating up, is expected to have his future decided soon.
