The 26-year-old shot-stopper impressed the recruitment staff with his standout performances last season.

Addai, who stands at an imposing 6'7", has been a crucial figure for Crawley as they earned promotion to League One last term.

Stockport have identified Addai as a potential key addition to the team, aiming to strengthen the club's defensive lineup. Sources close to Stockport County indicate that the club has been closely monitoring Addai’s progress over the past few months.

Addai started his career with Arsenal's youth academy, he later moved to Coventry City, where he spent several years developing his skills. He left for Barnsley and then Esbjerg fB in Denmark, before signing with Crawley Town in 2022.

In May, fans were stunned by the goalkeeper’s touch map in the League Two play-off semi-final against MK Dons.

Crawley triumphed over MK Dons with a 3-0 victory, thanks to goals from Liam Kelly, Jay Williams, and Ronan Darcy.

However, much of the post-match buzz on social media focused on Crawley’s goalkeeper.

His touch map went viral, showing a pattern more typical of a right-back than a goalkeeper.

A standout moment came when Kelly forced Addai to chase down a wayward pass that seemed destined to loop into Crawley's net.
