Liverpool linked to Inter stopper Milan Skriniar
Reigning Premier League champions Liverpool are rumoured to be considering a bid for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
The Reds are seeking a replacement for star defender Virgil van Dijk, who is out indefinitely after suffering a serious injury against Everton last month.
ESPN states that Jurgen Klopp would like a high calibre replacement for the Dutchman, and has singled out Skriniar as his No.1 target.
Skrinriar has fallen down the pecking order at San Siro in recent months, with the defender finding it difficult to operate in Antonio Conte’s three-man defence. The Slovak has only played twice this season, although this can also be attributed to the 25-year-old testing positive for Covid.
Inter have reportedly set the asking price at £54m for Skrinriar, although it’s difficult to see how The Reds could meet their asking price in January.
Tottenham Hotspur were also interested in Skrinriar in the closing weeks of the summer transfer window, but couldn’t agree a deal with the Italian giants.
Skrinriar joined Inter from Sampdoria in the summer of 2017 for around €20m (£17m).
