It is no secret that Pep Guardiola is a huge fan of the playmaker, and has gradually increased his minutes until the 20-year-old has become a key member of the City squad.

He has regularly featured in the Champions League, too, and has scored twice in 386 minutes of Premier League football this season.

And his displays are set to be rewarded, with his weekly salary jumping from £25,000 to £75,000 per week.

Foden has also been called back into the England squad for the first time since his indiscretion with Mason Greenwood in Iceland, where both men broke covid protocols.

Foden made his debut in 2017 as a 17-year-old and has been eased into the squad gently. Post-lockdown he featured more regularly than ever and with David Silva’s departure, Foden’s opportunities have been plentiful.
