Pogba hints at Juventus return after helping France beat Belgium
Paul Pogba has hinted at a possible return to Juventus when his Manchester United contract comes to an end next summer.
Speculation has surrounded the French midfielder for at least the last 12 months, as dips in form and remarks from the player and his agent have peppered his time at Old Trafford.
However, forgetful paper talk has made way for very real concerns over the player’s future at Man Utd, due to the fact that Pogba can speak to other clubs in January and leave for free in less than 12 months time.
While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his backroom staff may put on a brave face and suggest there’s nothing untoward going on with the player and the lack of a contract extension, Pogba has since suggested that he reconsider where he plays his football next June.
“I like Torino! [laughs] I always speak with former Juve team-mates like [Paulo] Dybala," said the midfielder after he helped his France national team overcome a two-goal deficit and beat Belgium 3-2 to reach the finals of the Nations League on Thursday night.
"I’m in Manchester now, I’m under contract until June then let’s see. I want to complete this season at the best level - then we see."
Could Pogba return to Juventus next season?
With no new contract in sight, Pogba has been linked with a move to a number of Europe’s biggest clubs. At this moment in time, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid seem to be the most likely destinations, due to their deep pockets and appetite for star players.
However, while Juventus may not be able to offer Pogba top-tier wages, they can offer him a platform to play his very best football, as he once did for the Italian giants not so long ago.
Unlike PSG or Madrid, Pogba can be the main man in Turin and that may be more valuable than a few extra million Euros each year.
