Stats show Ole is Man Utd's second BEST manager since Sir Alex
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was lorded as a saviour by Manchester United fans after their Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain back in 2019, and that game was what cemented the contract offer he was set to receive.
However, since then, he's not hit the same heights, and it's finally resulted in him losing his job.
There have been numerous lows during the almost three years he has been in charge at the club.
Solskjaer has a win percentage of 54.2% at the club, taking an average of 1.84 points per game (PPG).
But, how does Solskjaer's United record compare to managers of the past?
Man Utd managers since 1986

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer | 168 | 54.2 | 1.84 |
Jose Mourinho | 144 | 58.3 | 1.97 |
Louis van Gaal | 103 | 52.4 | 1.81 |
Ryan Giggs* | 4 | 50 | 1.75 |

Interestingly, Solskjaer's record is far from the worst since Sir Alex Ferguson took over. He may have failed to bring a trophy to Old Trafford so far, but his record is actually better than all barring Jose Mourinho since Ferguson.
Mourinho was often criticised for his time at Man Utd, but his record of 1.97 PPG is actually very impressive. Instead, it was his style of football that didn't please fans or the board.
David Moyes has the worst PPG of any manager since Ferguson, which is perhaps unsurprising given how little time he had in charge of the club.
Louis van Gaal also operated at a worst level than Solskjaer, but the Norwegian has been far more heavily backed in the transfer market, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho arriving this summer.
Solskjaer is the only permanent manager to not win a single trophy at Man Utd since Frank O'Farrell's spell between 1971 and 1972; even Moyes won a Community Shield.
