Transfer Power Ranking - Milan’s move for Tomori the best move of summer 2021
We’re now just under two months away from the January transfer window but according to our rankings Milan defender Fikayo Tomori remains the best signing of the season across Europe’s top leagues.
FootballTransfers’ Power Ranking has judged 45 summer deals on their merit in terms of four different criteria, giving a maximum score of 100.
Tomori, who completed a £25 million move to the Serie A club after he had spent the second half of last season on loan at San Siro, has come out on top, thus far, registering a score of 86.
How the transfers are judged

Much of the best work in the summer transfer market was done in Italy, and specifically in Milan.
While the Rossoneri captured Fikayo Tomori to lead the list, goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who made a €12m move from Lille to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma has also started the campaign in formidable form and comes in second.
Inter, meanwhile, boast Denzel Dumfries in at No.9 in our ranking. He comes in one spot behind Achraf Hakimi, the player he has replaced at the club.
Nico Gonzalez’s switch from Stuttgart to Fiorentina also makes the list, one spot above former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham following his move to Roma.
The highest-ranking player in the Premier League is Everton’s Demarai Gray, whose bargain switch to Goodison Park from Borussia Monchengladbach has seen him bag sixth place. He was the only player from England’s top flight to make the top 10, but Crystal palace defender Marc Guehi has now joined him.
Real Madrid’s move for Eduardo Camavinga has made the podium while Arnaut Danjuma’s move from Bournemouth to Villarreal is the other business done by a La Liga club to win acclaim.
Finally, Noa Lang’s finalised move from Ajax to Club Brugge has stormed in at third owing to the Dutchman’s super start to the season in Belgium.
