Pogba dream in tatters as Real Madrid set to pass on deal
Paul Pogba looks destined to never pull on the famous white of Real Madrid after reports Los Blancos aren't interested in the player.
The French World Cup winner's contract at Manchester United will expire next summer, meaning he is free to talk to interested clubs in January.
The arrival of a new manager often changes the fortunes of players, and Pogba may yet see his long-term future at Old Trafford with the arrival of Ralf Rangnick, first as interim manager and then as an advisor to the clubs next permanent manager.
But Pogba hasn't been seen for the Red Devils since a reckless challenge against Liverpool saw him sent off after coming on as a half-time substitute.
An injury suffered on international duty with France in November has ruled Pogba out for the remainder of the year, meaning he could decide his future before he is back playing.
A move to La Liga with Madrid has been a constant companion of Pogba's career but it seems now the club will pass on the opportunity to get him on a free transfer in the summer.
Reports in Marca are Real don't see Pogba as having a place in their midfield with Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro favoured to continue at the Bernabeu for next season.
And that has alerted Pogba's former club Juventus to the situation and his agent Mino Raiola recently hinted that could be the player's destination.
Pogba's failed moves to Real
Pogba has come close to signing for Real Madrid many times throughout his playing career.
During his two spells in charge of Real, French legend Zinedine Zidane made signing Pogba a priority. But Real were reportedly simply outbid by Manchester United when he moved to Old Trafford in 2016.
On another occasion in summer 2019, Pogba's salary demands of €14 million turned Real off any deal and he has remained in Manchester ever since.
Pogba's next club
At still only 28-years-old, Pogba still has a lot of football to play in his career and one last big move to one of Europe's top clubs isn't unrealistic.
There is no doubting the talent he still has when he turns it on, and is one of a select group of players who can change a game with the flick of his boot.
