'I'm not beginning to think that' - Solskjaer not fearing for his job after Man City defeat

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is adamant that he isn’t worried about losing his job but admits his side are currently way off the best teams in the Premier League.
The Old Trafford side were comfortably beaten by Manchester City in the first derby of the season on Saturday, as Pep Guardiola’s side ran out 2-0 winners.

The result now means that Solskjaer’s side have won just one of their last six league games and could finish the matchday in tenth place in the Premier League.
As such, the pressure on the Man Utd manager continues to grow with no clear turn around in form in sight.
'I'm not beginning to think about losing my job'
However, Solskjaer remains adamant that he isn’t on the verge of losing his job and knows exactly what needs to be done to turn things around.

“At the moment yes we are,” said the Man Utd boss to Sky Sports, when asked if his side aren’t at the same level as Man City or Liverpool.
“But we need to get back to what we started to look like. We started to look like a proper team towards the end of last season and the start of this season. We need to get back to that.”
“I’m sure that when we come back [from the international break] the players will be fresh in their minds and the demands and expectations on the players and me will be high. We just need to get back to what we started to look like. We have the players to do that.”
When asked if he feared that he could be on the verge of losing his job at Man Utd, Solskjaer said: “No I don’t. I’m not beginning to think that. I’m in good communication all the time with the club and that’s me being very up front and honest about the situation.
“I work for Man Utd and want the best for Man Utd. As long as I’m here I want to do all I can to improve this and that’s by going back to what we started to look like.”
