Arturo Vidal has hinted that he could join Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Conte was officially unveiled as the new Spurs manager on Tuesday, succeeding the sacked Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Italian manager is reported to have been given a £150 million transfer warchest to spend during the January window.

Immediately, Conte was linked to a host of Inter players who he coached to Scudetto glory last season, including Marcelo Brozovic, Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni.

Will Arturo Vidal move to Tottenham?

Another current Inter player who has been linked with joining Conte in London is Vidal.

The Chilean is a favourite of Conte after the Italian signed him first for Juventus in 2011 and then again for Inter in 2020.

Vidal was asked on Instagram by his followers if he would move to the Premier League with the Spurs manager and he didn’t rule it out.

“I have had opportunities in the past to move to the Premier League, but in the end nothing happened,” Vidal said. “But there’s still time!

“We will see how this year goes, what will happen and what my future destiny will be. But this year I want to give everything and fight for Inter.”

Vidal has not been a key player for Inter since signing on a free transfer last year and he scored just one goal in 14 starts under Conte last term.

This season he has impressed more in a cameo role but he has still yet to start a single Serie A game, scoring once in five substitute appearances. He did, however, score a crucial goal in a fine Champions League performance versus Sheriff – a game in which he played 75 minutes.

Whether at the age of 34, Vidal will be considered too old and injury-prone for the Premier League remains to be seen but what is certain is that you can never rule out Conte signing him.
