Better than Salah & Kane, only Henry has better goal ratio than Aguero
Sergio Aguero has the second-best goal ratio in Premier League history among those who have scored over 100 goals, with only Thierry Henry bettering the Manchester City legend.
Aguero sadly announced that he would retire from professional football on health grounds on Wednesday, with the decision taking immediate effect.
It was clearly a decision that pained the Argentina international, who made his name at Independiente and Atletico Madrid before playing 10 years at Manchester City.
He joined Barcelona in the summer of 2021, but it will be his decade-long association with the Etihad club for which he is remembered.
In 10 years at the club, he scored 260 goals in all competitions and won five Premier League titles.
What is Aguero’s goal ratio in the Premier League?
In the Premier League itself, Aguero scored an incredible 184 goals in 275 games. That translates to a ratio of 0.67 goals per game.
Of all the players who have scored over 100 goals in the Premier League, only one player has a better goal ratio than Aguero. And only just.
That is Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, who scored 175 goals in 258 games – a ratio of 0.68 goals per match.
Aguero has a better goal ratio than Tottenham icon Harry Kane. The Englishman has scored 167 goals in 258 games at a rate of 0.65.
Mohamed Salah has a goal ratio of 0.64 after finding the net 111 times in 174 games.
