How much could Arsenal make from player sales in January?

Arsenal will have every intention of making additions to their squad, as they continue their quest to break into the Premier League top four this season.
However, like most clubs, the London side will most likely have to sell players and raise additional funds before they can bid on their transfer targets.
Fortunately for Mikel Arteta, his squad is full of unwanted, overpaid stars that could certainly do a job elsewhere if the club are willing to sell them. And along the way Arsenal could raise a sizable amount of money for the coming transfer window.

Bernd Leno - €26m
One of the smartest moves Arsenal made in the summer transfer window was signing young goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
At the time, it seemed a little excessive but a few months later it has already proved to be a masterstroke, with the young English shot-stopper proving to be a much better talent between the posts than Bernd Leno.
However, that’s not to say that Leno is a bad keeper by any means and with a market value of €26m, Arsenal should be seriously considering a sale in January for a player that is far too good to be the club’s No.2.
Rob Holding - €17m
Arsenal spent a fortune on defenders in the summer and as a result a number of players have seen their game time under Arteta be dramatically reduced.
However, while the club may pick up single-digit fees for the likes of Calum Chambers, Cedric Soares or Sead Kolasinac in January, one player that may command a sizable fee is Rob Holding.
Holding was by no means a poor defender for Arsenal last season and at 26 years of age he’s a perfectly good Premier League defender that a number of clubs would be interested in signing in the coming transfer window.
Thomas Partey - €31m
One of the strangest moves in the summer window was how close Arsenal came to selling Granit Xhaka, only for the central defender to then sign a new contract with the club.
With the Swiss international’s future now intact at Arsenal, all eyes will now turn to Thomas Partey in the coming transfer window.
The former Atletico Madrid midfielder has struggled to live up to his lofty transfer fee from Spain and with Albert Sambi Lokonga as back up, the club would do well to cash in on the 28-year-old midfielder if they do intend on sticking with Xhaka.
Nicolas Pepe - €26m
Another expensive signing that hasn’t quite lived up to his billing is of course winger Nicolas Pepe, who has severely struggled for a starting role in Arteta’s squad this season.
The Ivory Coast international is by no means a bad player - as shown by the recent cup clash with Sunderland - but Arsenal can’t rely on him to perform each week.
With his contract set to expire in 2024, the club could still demand a decent price for the winger and should seriously consider selling him if an offer were to come in next month.
