Erling Haaland’s minimum fee release clause will be €75 million, according to Bild.

Haaland is arguably the hottest young property in Europe after an incredible two years at Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund resisted all interest in Haaland this past summer but it is widely expected that the attacker will move on at the end of the 2021-22 campaign when a release clause will be activated in his contract, and it's difficult to predict at this point where the Norwegian will be playing his football in 2022/23.

WHO ARE THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS IN THE WORLD?

There has been great debate for some time as to how much the release clause fee will be, but German publication Bild has now revealed that it stands at €75m.

"His contract in Dortmund runs until 2024, but he can leave Borussia in the summer of 2022 for a fixed price of €75m,” Bild confirms.

Virtually every top club in Europe is interested in signing the 21-year-old, including Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, PSG and Real Madrid.

EUROPEAN GOLDEN SHOE 2021/22

This news is said to have put Man Utd, Man City and Real Madrid particularly on alert, with all three clubs ready to activate the clause.

Man Utd and Man City are both searching for a natural number 9. United are currently using Cristiano Ronaldo, now 36, in the position while City have often been forced to play wingers in a false 9 role.

Real Madrid are also searching for a long-term successor to Karim Benzema.

Madrid are considered the current favourites to sign Haaland and last week Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke admitted that “Real are very interested in Haaland.”

Haaland has scored 76 goals in 74 games since joining Dortmund from RB Salzburg in January 2020.

He has already scored 145 club goals in 185 games in his career so far, while he has hit the back of the net 12 times in 15 games for the Norway national team.
