Why it’s ‘very unlikely’ Man Utd will sign Grealish – Neville
Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes it is “very unlikely” that the club will move for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.
The England international was present as United recorded a 2-1 win over the Villans on Friday.
Although he was unable to influence that fixture in a positive manner for his side, Grealish has won acclaim for his performances over the course of the last 18 months. As such, he is touted as a potential recruit for the Old Trafford side.
Neville, though, does not believe that it is a move that will come to fruition.
“I think it’s very unlikely Manchester United would move for Jack Grealish, as good as he is,” he explained to Sky Sports.
“When you think of Donny van de Beek, Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, the type of players United have.
“There are no doubts, there were accusations about style over substance but now he’s delivering on a consistent basis. He’s a brilliant player for Aston Villa.”

Villa manager Dean Smith has indicated that Grealish was previously sounded out by United but was not interested in the move.
“He wanted to progress and wanted progress as a footballer first and foremost at Villa. It’s his team, he grew up as an Aston Villa fan, he’s been here a long time and I’ve always had that feeling that he didn’t want to leave. He wanted to continue the journey of being progressive with the football club,” he told Stadium Astro.
The 25-year-old Grealish has scored five times in the Premier League this season and has also chipped in with nine assists. The latest of these came in setting up Bertrand Traore against United.
He has played 202 times for Villa over the course of his career and has found the net on 31 occasions.
