€40m Sevilla star has no interest in joining Arsenal

Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan says he has no interest in joining Premier League giants Arsenal.

Jordan has been heavily linked with a €40 million move to the Gunners after impressing for the Europa League champions this season.

However, the 26-year-old is happy to be playing his football in Andalusia and says a move to Arsenal does not excite him.

“I do not see myself leaving Sevilla – at all,” Jordan told Estadio Deportivo.

“That is a reality. I am at a spectacular club, with ambition, and that is what my body asks for.

“It is the ideal place to keep improving and do great things. I am delighted to be here.”

Jordan moved to Sevilla from Eibar in the summer of 2019 for €14m and his value has already soared.

He has made an impressive six goal contributions in 20 league games for Sevilla in 2020/21, including two assists at the weekend in the 3-0 victory over Getafe.

His performances have helped Sevilla into fourth place in La Liga, just a point behind giants Real Madrid and Barcelona. They also face Borussia Dortmund in the next round of the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are struggling badly in the Premier League and find themselves languishing in 11^th position after losing successive matches.
