Only four English clubs can afford Haaland, claims Raiola
Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola has laid down the gauntlet, insisting only 10 clubs can afford the Borussia Dortmund striker and just four in the Premier League.
The Norwegian striker, 20, is among the hottest properties in Europe right now and has been linked with all the top clubs in Europe.
But in an exclusive interview with Dan Roan, Raiola made it clear that he wouldn’t be listening to time-wasters next summer but hinted Haaland may be on the move if the offer is right.
“Only a maximum of 10 clubs can afford to buy [Haaland] and give the platform you would like after you’ve been in Dortmund… and four of those clubs are in [England].
“I don’t think there’s a sports director or trainer in the world who would say ‘not interested’. It’s like saying: ‘Is there a Formula 1 team who would not be interested in having Lewis Hamilton?'”
While Raiola doesn’t name the clubs, it is clear that the usual suspects will be queuing up for his signature.
In 43 games for Borussia Dortmund since his move from Red Bull Salzburg in January last year, Haaland has scored 43 goals.
Manchester City have been most heavily linked lately, as they search for a replacement for Sergio Aguero, who is out of contract in the summer and yet to sign a new one at the Etihad Stadium.
