And he hit the headlines on Sunday with his debut goal for the Italian side against Caronnese.

Drogba slotted home the only goal of the game in the last minute, firing home clinically at the back post before wheeling away in celebration.

The youngster left French Ligue 2 club Guingamp last summer and previously spent time in Chelsea’s youth academy.

He has a long way to go to match the exploits of his father, who was close to moving to Italy himself during his career when both AC Milan and Inter made moves for him.

It was at Chelsea where Drogba Sr really made his mark.

How many goals did Didier Drogba score for Chelsea?

He scored 164 goals during two spells at Stamford Bridge, winning four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, two Community Shields and the Champions League.

He scored the winning penalty in the Blues’ Champions League final shootout victory over Bayern Munich, having earlier scored the equaliser to take the match to extra time.

He is also his country’s record goalscorer, having struck 65 times in 105 appearances.

Drogba Sr also played for Le Mans, Guingamp, Marseille, Shanghai Shenhua, Galatasaray, Montreal Impact and Phoenix Rising during a storied career.
