‘It’s been a pleasure to work with you’ – Son disappointed with Tottenham decision to sack Mourinho
Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-Min has admitted his displeasure at the club’s decision to sack Jose Mourinho.
Amidst the mayhem created by the announcement of a Super League, the Premier League side seemed to take the opportunity to dismiss Mourinho just five days before a League Cup final against Manchester City.
Spurs were held to a 2-2 draw with Everton on Friday, which confirmed that Mourinho’s side had won just one of their last six games and languished in seventh place, five points off West Ham and a top-four spot.
That, apparently, seemed to be enough for the club’s hierarchy to draw a line under Mourinho’s time at the club.

However, it seems as though one of the club’s most important players wasn’t happy with the decision, as Son took to Instagram to announce his disappointment in seeing Mourinho leave the club.
“I have no words to describe how I’m feeling, it’s been a pleasure to work with you,” said the South Korea international in an Instagram post.
“I’m sorry things didn’t work out and truly grateful for the time we’ve had together. Good luck and all the best for the future.”
Were Tottenham right to sack Mourinho?
Despite having a reputation for causing trouble in the dressing room, this is now the second high-profile Tottenham player that has come out in support of Mourinho since his departure.
On Monday Harry Kane was quick to break the silence with a photo of him high-fiving Mourinho, along with a caption that read: “Thank you for everything Boss. A pleasure to have worked together. I wish you all the best for your next chapter.”
Although few could argue with Mourinho not quite reaching the heights he managed at Real Madrid and Chelsea manager, it does seem as though the rumours of him leaving behind a squad delighted to see the back of him may be off.
