Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been linked with a move back to the Premier League.

The Welshman spent a decade with the Gunners until his move to the Allianz Stadium on a free transfer in the summer of 2019.

Ramsey would go on to win Serie A in his first season with Juventus, though did not play a key role as he started just 11 league matches in total.

In 2020/21 he and the Bianconeri struggled as a whole as although he enjoyed a couple of more starts in Serie A with 13, Juve only just managed to qualify for the Champions League on the last day of the season after surrendering the Scudetto to Inter, losing it fo the first time in a decade.

In total Ramsey has made just 33 starts in two years with the club, scoring six goals and recording five assists.

Thirty-two of his 65 appearances have came as a substitute.

Due to his exorbitant wages of €300,000 per week, Juventus are keen to offload him this summer in order to free up some space on their wage bill.

They would be willing to accept offers of around €8m.

But, where could Ramsey go, having impressed with Wales at Euro 2020?

Arsenal

When at his best Ramsey was one of the most impressive box-to-box midfielders in the league, and although his Arsenal career was blighted by injuries, the Gunners would still probably welcome him back.

After all, his departure coincided with a major downturn in fortunes for the club, so his return could act as a catalyst of sorts.

Even with the addition of Albert Sambi Lokonga, Arsenal are still in the market for another midfielder as Matteo Guendouzi has left for Marseille, while Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira are expected to be sold this summer too, with the former heading to Roma.

For this one to happen, Ramsey would probably need to lower his wage demands, however.

Liverpool

The club most credited with an interest in Ramsey is Liverpool, who are eager to recruit a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.

Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour believes he would be the perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp's side, telling talkSPORT:

“Would Liverpool suit him? It’s all in the wages and whether he’d take a wage cut.

“Liverpool would be great. They need to find a replacement for Wijnaldum don’t they? I think he’d be a good fit"

Ramsey would present a cheap option in terms of a transfer fee, but his wages would make him one of the highest paid players at the club.

Tottenham

This rumour has been doing the rounds for a while now and it is up to Ramsey himself whether he would entertain the idea of playing for Arsenal's arch rivals, Tottenham.

Though Ramsey played for Arsenal for a decade and undoubtedly still has a love for the club, he was not a boyhood fan of the North London side which makes this one a bit more believable than if he was an Arsenal youth star.

Moussa Sissoko could be on his way out of Spurs soon and Ramsey would represent a superb signing for Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Arsenal connection remains the elephant in the room, however, as well as his aforementioned wages.
