Arsenal will attempt to kick start their summer transfer window with a blockbuster move for Inter star Lautaro Martinez.

The Argentine is presently unhappy with his salary at Inter and is pushing to depart the Serie A champions, with the Premier League an obvious destination given the wealth of the league.

While there is certainly an arm wrestle to be had in order to release Lautaro from the Nerazzurri, the Gunners are ready to make him their second-best paid member of staff should he move to the club.

Indeed, a report from Eurosport suggests that Arsenal are willing to offer Lautaro wages of £275,000 a week – which works out at £14.3 million per year – in order to join the club.

How does this compare to the other stars of the Emirates Stadium?

Arsenal’s leading earner is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who would retain that status even if Lautaro moved to the club. He pockets around £350,000 on a weekly basis, which means that he earns £18.2m per year.

Willian, meanwhile, has proven to be a major headache for the club, with an annual salary of £10m, for which he has provided precious little return on the field.

Completing the top three earners at the club is Alexandre Lacazette, who takes home £9.5m per year.

These three players have a far higher salary than anyone else in the Arsenal side.

Indeed, there are only five other Gunners stars who earn a weekly wage of £100,000 or above. These are defenders Hector Bellerin and Sead Kolasinac, midfielder Granit Xhaka, goalkeeper Bernd Leno and attacker Nicolas Pepe.

Playmaker Emile Smith Rowe is reportedly the lowest earning player in the first team, though his wages of £20,000 per week still equate to more than £1m per year.
