Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea: Goals, assists, results & fixtures in 2021-22
Romelu Lukaku completed one of the biggest transfers of the summer of 2021 when he left Inter to join Chelsea.
The Belgium striker returned to Stamford Bridge for a blockbuster fee of €115 million (£97m).

The Blues had desperately been searching all summer for a No.9 and they finally got their man in Lukaku.
His return, though, did not go according to plan. Dogged by injury and illness, the striker failed to live up to expectations following his incredible switch.
The 29-year old ended up having a disastrous season and lasted just one season at the club before returning to Inter on loan.
Things all started so well for Lukaku back at Chelsea, too. He made a dream return, scoring one and creating havoc in a 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on August 22.
After a respectable 1-1 draw with Liverpool, Lukaku struck twice more in the next game – a 3-0 home victory over Aston Villa.
And he struck again in Chelsea’s first Champions League match of the campaign, heading home the winner in a 1-0 triumph over Zenit St Petersburg at Stamford Bridge.
This completed a fantastic start to his Chelsea return, with four goals in his first four matches in all competitions.
Subsequently, his form collapsed. He experienced a three-month drought without a goal in the Premier League, though this was interrupted by injury and illness, which saw him miss six games.
Two goals in two outings after Christmas seemed to signal a return to form, but a controversial interview with Sky Italia suggested that he was not happy and triggered a public war with manager Thomas Tuchel.
Lukaku was forced to back down by issuing a public apology but his poor form continued with a wretched showing against Manchester City that led to his manager to publicly call out his performances.
The Belgian scored just one goal in six appearances in all competitions in January, with that coming against Chesterfield in the FA Cup.
The FIFA Club World Cup proved to be a happy hunting ground for Lukaku, though. After netting the winner in the semi-final against Al-Hilal, he followed that up by contributing the opening goal of the final against Palmeiras with a superb header. By the time Kai Havertz slotted the winner from the penalty spot in extra-time, he had been taken off the field.
But Lukaku then produced arguably his worst performance in a Chelsea shirt in his next game as he touched the ball just seven times all game in the 1-0 win at Crystal Palace.
He was subsequently dropped to the bench for two of Chelsea's biggest games of the season at the end of February. He played no part of the 2-0 Champions League last-16 first leg win over Lille and was then introduced on 74 minutes as Chelsea lost on penalties in the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool after a 0-0 draw. Lukaku did score his penalty in the shootout, though.
Into March and Lukaku was back in the starting XI for the FA Cup visit to Luton. In what was a difficult day for the club following Roman Abramovich's announcement that he was selling the club, Lukaku scored the winner in a 3-2 victory.
He sat out the 4-0 win at Burnley at the end of that week and was only a second-half substitute in both the 1-0 home win against Newcastle and 2-1 victory over Lille.
The beginning of April brought little more cheer for Lukaku as he again found himself given a bit-part role during a stunning 4-1 defeat at the hands of Brentford.
And it was the same four days later in the Champions League as Chelsea were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid in the first leg of their quarter final at Stamford Bridge. Lukaku came off the bench for the final 26 minutes and missed a sitter to get Chelsea back in the tie.
A matter of days later, he missed the resounding 6-0 win over Southampton due to an issue that he picked up in his brief midweek outing. He also missed the narrow exit to Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Lukaku returned to the bench for the FA Cup semi-final win over Crystal Palace. He came on for the final 13 minutes but missed a glorious chance.
Lukaku earned his first Premier League start in over two months at home against Arsenal on April 20 but was booed off the field when being substituted on the hour mark. Chelsea lost 4-2 and Lukaku was again poor.
He was back on the bench for the 1-0 win against West Ham, coming on for the final 14 minutes and winning a penalty which resulted in a red card for Craig Dawson.
He stayed there in the next two matches, playing 19 minutes of the 1-1 draw at Man Utd and not seeing any time in the 1-0 defeat to West Ham.
However, he did make an impression against Wolves as he scored two goals in a 2-2 draw. By the time the visiting side hit back to level, he had been taken off the field of play. Meanwhile, this came under the nose of new owner Todd Boehly, whose group had won the right to buy the club for £4.25bn earlier that day.
Lukaku continued his late renaissance with another goal in his next game as he started in the 3-0 win at Leeds that virtually booked Champions League qualification for next season.
He was thus rewarded with a place in Chelsea's team for the FA Cup final against Liverpool. He played 85 minutes as Tuchel's team suffered their second successive penalty shootout loss to the Reds after a 0-0 draw.
He ended the campaign with 78 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Leicester before missing the final game against Watford.
In total, Lukaku scored a rather disappointing 15 goals in all competitions from 44 games. Only eight of these goals came in the Premier League. He did not deliver an assist all campaign.
This page will be regularly updated to showcase Lukaku’s individual club statistics for Chelsea throughout the 2021-22 season.

Interesting explanation by Tuchel on not using Lukaku: "Because we had to take Jorgi off and only had three changes." https://t.co/rtTS7kn4Fb

Romelu Lukaku 2020-21 stats
What proved to be Lukaku’s second and final season at Inter ended with him winning the Scudetto, the first Serie A championship the Nerazzurri had lifted in 11 years.
Lukaku played a pivotal role in Inter’s success, scoring 30 goals in all competitions.
This included 24 Serie A goals from 36 games. He also provided an impressive 11 assists.
Inter were disappointingly eliminated from the group stages of the Champions League, but Lukaku still managed to score four times in just five games for the Nerazzurri.
He was reborn at Inter under coach Antonio Conte, following a disappointing spell at Manchester United.
