Wolves manager Bruno Lage has refused to rule out the departure of winger Adama Traore in the January transfer window.

Traore can be unplayable on his day due to his arguably unmatched pace and power in the Premier League, but unfortunately for the Spaniard he tends to run hot and cold for Wolves.

That is reflected in his goal contributions, as he is yet to record a goal or an assist in the 2021/22 Premier League.

In the 2020/21 campaign, he scored just two and set up a further two.

The lack of involvement in the final third means that he has been in and out of the Wolves team this season, as he has been named in the starting XI on 10 occasions out of a possible 18.

Traore has, however, been linked with a big move away from Wolves this month, with both Barcelona and Tottenham reportedly interested.

When asked about the interest in his player, Lage admitted that a transfer could happen if it makes sense for Wolves and Traore.

"I don't know anything about that, but what is the most important thing in the world?

football?" he told Sky Sports.

"It has to be good for the club and good for the player. I'm happy with my forwards, but you never know."

Will Traore join Barcelona?

It is unlikely that Barcelona will be able to afford Traore in the January transfer window.

Despite their terrible current financial situation, Barca managed to secure the signing of Manchester City forward Ferran Torres for €65 million.

But, as of yet, they have been unable to register the Spaniard to play for the club, as they must make further cuts on their salary bill before they will be allowed to do so.

That is even with the departure of Philippe Coutinho to Aston Villa on loan.

Traore started his career with Barcelona and is a product of their famed La Masia academy.
